Course: 11-13th May 2020 – Data sources that complement health survey data

The next IDEAR early career researcher training course will take place in Turku, Finland, on 11th-13th May 2020.

The course content will include the following:

  • Introduce common clinical measurements that are conducted in health examination studies (e.g. body composition, physical and cognitive performance, blood pressure),
  • Discuss what should be taken into account in planning and data analyses,
  • Familiarization with accelerometers, which are used to measure physical activity, sedentariness and sleep,
  • Introduce how neighborhood health effects can be examined using register data that can be linked to participants’ home addresses/zip codes.

Target group

Junior members of the IDEAR network, included in the Early Career Training Programme.
