Course: Data sources that complement health survey data

The next IDEAR early career researcher training course will take place in Turku, Finland, the exact date will be announced later.

The course content will include the following:

  • Introduce common clinical measurements that are conducted in health examination studies (e.g. body composition, physical and cognitive performance, blood pressure),
  • Discuss what should be taken into account in planning and data analyses,
  • Familiarization with accelerometers, which are used to measure physical activity, sedentariness and sleep,
  • Introduce how neighborhood health effects can be examined using register data that can be linked to participants’ home addresses/zip codes.

Target group

Junior members of the IDEAR network, included in the Early Career Training Programme.
